Archer VR2100 - Randomly reboots several times a day.
Hi,
Had the Arccher Vr2100 a few eeks now and it reboots itself several times during a 24hr period.
Firmware up to date and cannot see and kind of schedules in the settings that would reboot it.
The logs do not show anything obvious.
Do i have a faulty device?

@david-m I updated (downgraded) ours to the same 06-Jan-21 beta on Saturday. We are still having three or four reboots a day. It's at the point now where I will have to return the router. It clearly isn't fit for purpose, so many people on here on so many threads, all reporting the same issues. We have several members of the household either working or studying and its just too unreliable for us to be able to carry out these day-to-day tasks.
I work in IT and have been recommending (& selling) TP-Link kit for years. I am going to review that now. The Customer service has been poor. A couple of emails and then nothing.

It is really inconsistent. After my initial reboot at the weekend it has stayed connected for 3 days 15 hours on the 210106 beta. 5 days is still my record on any firmware but 1-2 reboots per day is typical.
I heard there's a new beta - here's hoping it is better.
I know what you mean about recommending TpLink. I have been through a few generations of router along the way and the VR2100 is a nice spec - it just needs to be stable. I have a few other TpLink products which are very good.

It's really weird, as I said I have not had a reboot since switching to the first beta. Re-sync of the DSL occasionally yes, but no hardware crashes. I too have a lot of TP-Link kit which has been mostly great. The home plugs needed some hacked firmware to get them stable, as an update has not been released in about 3 years. But other than that and the beta firmware needed for the router no issues.

What is going on TP-Link? This post is no longer visible under 'recent posts'. It is only visible when you select 'Most VIEWS Posts'. TP-Link, you are not being very transparent with this ongoing issue with your product and it looks like the issue that affects many of your customers is not going to be resolved any time soon. I also noticed that you have also chosen to put your flagship VR2800 model into end of life yet there are many UK sellers still stocking this item!! If this is the way you are going to treat your customers, then I will never buy another product from you again.

I'm still testing TPLINK beta firmware with TPLINK support by email... Communication about ~31 emails to now.
Some firmware seems as better, but now last - ~13 hours uptime and crash... :(

I have been emailed a few beta builds to try but they are variable.
For example, beta 210413 seems to consistently last a day - I get a reboot at a random time which is usually overnight. Beta 210420 rebooted 3 times in a day so I went back to 210413.
I have been emailed beta 210426 but I haven't been able to try it yet.
