Archer VR2100 - Randomly reboots several times a day.
Hi,
Had the Arccher Vr2100 a few eeks now and it reboots itself several times during a 24hr period.
Firmware up to date and cannot see and kind of schedules in the settings that would reboot it.
The logs do not show anything obvious.
Do i have a faulty device?

I have a VR2100 VDSL router and have the same issue. My device is rebooting randomly every 1-2 days.
When it reboots, all the lights go out.
My firmware is the latest:
Firmware Version:1.4.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 201122 Rel.72659n

They sent me a new router. Also the service provider made some settings. It passed 6 days 5 hrs and no reboot or dsl drop now. I hope the problem was fixed. My firmware version is also 1.4.0.0.9.1

Just posted the following to another vr2100 reboot thread by mistake, just to keep you updated ......
"
I have also been suffering regular reboots and have been working with TP-Link Support trying different Firmware etc's however the situation has not changed and the router is rebooting on average once per day still even when using the latest (now published) firmware. I have even put the router in 'wireless router mode' and used my original BT router as a modem only however the VR2100 still restarts when only being used as a wireless router. So this proves that the problem is nothing to do with the Internet line. I assume its a firmware/hardware issue with my VR2100.
I've just restarted the RMA process with support and will let you all know how I get on....
"
Hopefully a replacement will work for me also...

This time it rebooted after 11 days. I can't understand what's wrong but i realized that the router was on a table and it was a little bit hot. Now it's hanged vertically on the wall. Maybe it helps to u a little bit.

Hello all, sorry to hear that you experience an auto-reboot on the VR2100.
If the auto-reboot issue, unfortunately, persists on the latest firmware, please kindly check if the latest beta firmware we provided in the below thread:
(Updated on 2021-06-22)
https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/262804
This is the guide to update this beta firmware manually:

I hope this helps, good day.

Hi,
I'm having the same issue. Tried both the latest firmaware (ArcherVR2100V120112272659n) and the beta firmware suggested in your post but that just seemed to make it worse? Had the router for around 2 weeks (replacing a sky q broadband router - which was terrible) and was great for the first week.
Not sure what to do?
Can you help me please? Would it help to paste some diagnostic info? If so can you tell me how to do this please.
Kind regards
James

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the auto reboot issue on the Archer VR2100, can you please confirm how often does it reboot itself? Was there any high load or traffic when it reboots? Do you need to do anything to recover the connection or just wait?
Who is your ISP, please? We would like to escalate your case to our engineers, and they will help follow it up, if you are willing to do further analysis, please check your inbox and respond.
Thank you.

thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
Was there any high load or traffic when it reboots?
I guess so. Two devices gaming and a couple watching streaming services. Usually reboots in the evening.
Do you need to do anything to recover the connection or just wait?
Just wait a few minutes and comes back on.
Who is your ISP, please?
Sky Broadband (around 25-25Mb under off-peak circumstances)
I see there are numerous pages on the router (192.168.1.1) settings that have various numbers and options that can be configured. I havent changed anything and only tried the latest firmware and the beta one given in your post to another user with the same issues.
Thanks
James
