Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 200116 Rel.60756n

Hi,

Had the Arccher Vr2100 a few eeks now and it reboots itself several times during a 24hr period.

Firmware up to date and cannot see and kind of schedules in the settings that would reboot it.

The logs do not show anything obvious.

Do i have a faulty device?

Hello all, sorry to hear that you experience an auto-reboot on the VR2100.

If the auto-reboot issue, unfortunately, persists on the latest firmware, please kindly check if the latest beta firmware we provided in the below thread:

@plasmahal

Good day.

Thank you very much for your patience.

How did you notice that the modem would auto reboot and have you seen all the lights on then off?

Did the issue start out of box?

At the back of the modem, there would be a reset button/pinhole, please hold it for 10s for a factory reset;

By the way, how many devices are connected to Archer VR2100 and what are they, any Samsung S10, or surface pro?

And may I know where are you located?

Thank you very much.

@Sunshine

Hi,

Yes the problem is still happening.

Re you questions.

How did you notice that the modem would auto reboot and have you seen all the lights on then off?

Yes, the router seems to power cycle, all lights go offf then takes serveral miunutes to reconnect to internet.

Did the issue start out of box?

not sure

At the back of the modem, there would be a reset button/pinhole, please hold it for 10s for a factory reset;

Will this mean i have to setup the wifi again?

By the way, how many devices are connected to Archer VR2100 and what are they, any Samsung S10, or surface pro?

12 on wifi and 1 on wired.  none fo them Samsung or surface pro devices.

And may I know where are you located?

@Sunshine

@plasmahal

I (i'm from Turkey) have a VR2100 VDSL router and have the same issue. My device is rebooting randomly every 1-2 days. Some times 1-2 in 1 day.  When it reboots, all the lights go out.

My firmware is the latest:

Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 200116 Rel.60756n

Can u help me?

Same issue here, 4 devices have been tested and are as follows...

I'm on my second one as I thought it wass faulty so sent it back for a replacement and then I have 2 friends with varying xDSL lines with different ISP's and all are having the same problems.

I have a VDSL2 line with EE and on both this modem and my previous one I get about the same speeds (16815kb up and 43920kb down). Friend 1 has a good quality ADSL OEL line and gets about 20Mbit down and 1.4MBit up running Annex B, Friend 2 has a VDSL2 line and the street cabinet is right outside of his front door so he has the maximum speed you can get in this country on VDSL2 which is 80Mbit down and 20Mbit up. All are experiencing about 1 - 3 restarts a day.

So this is a bug in either the hardware or the firmware and one would hope that it can be fixed by firmware. I should add that Amazon has let me keep the router that was going to be replaced so I experimented by adding a touch more voltage using a special power adapter I have as I had a hunch it might not be getting enough power but adding a little more doesn't seem to make any difference so I can say it isn't that.

Hello, please help confirm the basic info that we posted earlier, we will try to help you out ASAP:

1. Will it recover and reconnect to the internet automatically? How long does this take?

2. When the VR2100 auto-reboots, will all the LEDs on the front panel turn off then on? Is it feeling hot? If it is, put it in a well-ventilated location or mount it vertically on a stand that permits the free flow of air, and use a fan to cool the router, a regular fan or USB fan is fine.

3. How many devices are connected to the VR2100 most of the time? Is it rebooting when there is high-load or just normal browsing? What if you try to reduce some clients and monitor again?

@Kevin_Z

Hello Kevin here're my answers:

1. Will it recover and reconnect to the internet automatically? How long does this take?

    Yes, it reconnects automatically and takes 1-2 min.

  Yes, all the LED's turn off then turn on. Actullay I didn't check the temp specifally but it wasn't so hot. It's already well-ventilated location. The room temp is usually between 22-22,5 celcius degree.

3. How many devices are connected to the VR2100 most of the time? Is it rebooting when there is high-load or just normal browsing? What if you try to reduce some clients and monitor again?

  Usuaaly aprox 7-8 devices are connected to the VR2100 but most of them are not using the router with high capacity, they're just connected to control climate device, etc. The router is just rebooting while just normal browsing.

Thank you in advance.
