Deco M5 loose connection when switching
Deco M5 loose connection when switching
Every time I move from one room to another I get disconnected. It takes 3 to 5 seconds to get reconnected.
I have three stations (Deco). They work perfectly without any problems if I'm In the same room. The problem only happens if I move from one room to another. It just loose connection.
Each Deco is very close to each other. We are on the same floor. Deco 1 is just 5 meter away from Deco 2. Deco 2 & 3 are just 2 meters apart.
The fast Roaming is on. I have reset and reinstalled or did setting twice but problems resits.
it was never like this before. Being using for a year. Just happened a month ago.
Any idea

I have same problem. I bought two deco m5 units and placed them separately at hall (not u shape, it is straight and 7.5meters), first one above kitchen door, second one above study room door. They are working in AP mode. Deco units are connected to ISP router's (huawei hg255s) ethernet ports by cat6 ethernet cables. ISP router's wifi is disabled.
For example, I start/join a webex meeting with my phone using wifi at study room, when i go to kitchen to take a coffee while meeting, wifi signal is full but webex stops working unless i disconnect/reconnect wifi. It's not only webex, i always have this issue while using whatsapp calls, gotomeeting, zoom, youtube, vpn connections to the company that i work for..
I have tried setting IEEE 802.11r (fast switch) on and off. It does not change anything.
Whole idea to have this product is not to have these kind of problems.
I hope this is fixed soon with a firmware upgrade.
This is the 3rd tp-link product that I'm not happy about in last 6 months.

That is very different from my experience of running 3-nodes Deco mesh, consisting of wired Satellite M5, wired Main M9 and wireless Satellite M9. They run in AP mode. Only 5GHz is enabled for Main network.
I have tested multiple times with YouTube, transfer between nodes is seamless in my house.
