TP Link Archer AX50 problem

Today I set up the internet with a modem and router. The internet works when I hardwire from the modem but when I plug it into the router and try setting it up, it keeps failing and can't seem to find an IP address. Any idea what might be the problem? The router is Archer A20 and the modem is an arris t25.
