Archer T3U Plus - dropping pings
Bought brand new, installed drivers from the supplied disk, had issues immediately so found and upgraded from the TP Link site. Network frequently drops momentarily if you do a ping you can see it chokes every 4th or 5th ping either timing out completely or responding with like 3000ms response time. Windows is up to date and works perfectly fine with ethernet, just I need to move this PC into another room where there isnt any ethernet.
I have an Archer A7 router/AP with 2 RE300 mesh extenders which have 3 bars of signal, all other devives seem to work pretty well on this network.
I always seem to have issues with USB wireless adapters, frustrating!
Can I tweak some settings somewhere?

@Col777, @Havris I experienced drop also in my pings since I recieved the adapter using the TP-Link drivers. I fixed it by installing these driver "Archer T3U_beta_U2_U3_5G unstable issue_1030.22.0202.2018" (https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201911/20191128/Archer T3U_beta_U2_U3_5G unstable issue_1030.22.0202.2018.zip) from this post https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/204222#topic-reply-432680
test bench: "iperf -s" on router, "iperf -c <server ip> -R -t 60 -P 2" on the tested client (-P 2: is for the # of MU-MIMO stream used)
Here are the results: no more 2+secs pings, no more timeout
Sys info
laptop: 2012 asus n76vz built in wireless n(disabled) w/ t3u adapter
router: asus rt-ax58u 2.4GHz disabled, 80MHz, MU-MIMO, 802,11ax active

Hi,
I bought TP-LINK AC1300 Archer T3U Plus to to connect in 5ghz band. I am facing same issues as others.
I see high ping times ( tries 8.8.8.8) or request time at regular intervals.
When i set to use in "ac" mode, After ~10 good pings (~14ms), there is one ping with ~ 3 seconds !!, Some times there is request timeout. This keeps happening.
I notices that i don't see this issue when using T3U in "b" and "g" mode (2.4ghz), this is useless as i already have 2.4ghz wifi dongles and they work good.
I tried with the realtek driver you suggested, I still see same issue. is there a fix for this issue?
Note that I am using it with archer C6 router.
Regards
SrinivasS

Hi Kathy!
I am having trouble with this adapter as well.
My config is :
- Windows 10 with latest update
- Latest driver from the official website
2.4Ghz mode works fine but having connection issues using 5Ghz mode (ac only). Tried it in ubs 2.0 and 3.0 as well, 2.0 looks better but still not perfect.
Also I am using an Archer C6 (eu ver2) rooter.

@Col777 I have the same problem since I bought the T3u.
The only solution I found that really worked for me is going into your CMD as administrator and type:
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-Fi"
It blocks all the other Wi-Fi around you and my ping is very stable after I do this.
The only annoying part is, is when you start your pc/laptop again you have to enable it again and than disable it again manual in CMD. Otherwise it wont find any Wifi, including your own.
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wi-Fi"
It doesnt seem like much work which it isnt. But it gets a little bit annoying to do this everytime you restart your pc.
If someone else knows an better solution, please let me know. :)
Best of luck everybody!

I just register to say this is only correct answer on Win10 (latest version).
I've tried all drivers (beta, unsigned, only ac...). Nothing work.
Tried this command and now it works (with any driver, any mode).
FIX this issue... it's getting annoying to type command everytime!
