I installed this wireless powerline kit some months ago and everything worked well. The main TL-WPA281 unit still functions well with a strong signal and no problems. The remote TL-WPA211 adaptor was working and still does for about 2 minutes and then it drops the connection from the main adaptor. This occurs even when they are in the same room only 5 meters apart. I've reset both and paired them again, but the same thing keeps happening.

Hi Paul, try a different socket. Besides, connect 281 and 211 togeter and check if the problem continues.
Check changes of indicators on both devices.

Ada, many thanks for the suggestion. I finally realized that the 211 was not dropping the connection, but that it was not coming out of power saving mode. The 281 is on the top floor of my home and 211 is on my ground floor with a wired connection to a Linksys access point. I had to wire it to an access point because the wireless radio signal of the wireless 211 is so weak that it was useless.

I did some additional research and found that other people who have a different TP-Link powerline model connected to an access point also had problems getting their device to come out of power saving mode. It apparently is a bug in the software. TP-Link informed them that they were aware of the problem and working on a solution. I will contact TP-Link support and inform them that they have the same problem with the 211. Unplugging and replugging the 211 does bring it out of power save mode, but that is a pain in the backsides.
