Restoring original Archer c6 v2 firmware with tftpd32
Restoring original Archer c6 v2 firmware with tftpd32
After tplink added the mesh network to the router with the last update, i flashed the latest openwrt firmware to get rid of it and got it working.. Now after some months, i read the responses on the thread saying that the mesh network will have the disable function (that should have had since the beginning).
The problem began when I tried flashing the original firmware with tftpd32 like the openwrt one.. I do everything right and the file is uploaded.. the thing is right after the upload, all the router leds blink like it restarts.. there is no processing like when I flashed openwrt for 1/2 mins.. the router completely rejects the uploaded bin...
What can be done to restore the original firmware? I'll give more info if needed.

I did a factory reset 2 times after checking the new firmware, it's something new for me, but it worked. Tell me better where is the OneMesh disable option? Have you used an extra switch between your computer and router?

@Kreco the OneMesh disable option is not available yet, what I am trying to do is flash the original firmware so when the next update is lauched (hopefully with the disable option) i can upgrade to it.
Regarding the extra switch between the computer and router, i never needed one, it always worked without it.

Where I read, they recommend the switch, if it does not work now, try it. I always went back to 1.2.1. I doubt they will make a mesh switch. I wrote a few months ago with a senior engineer and suggested this option. I don't know how to help you, that's the difference between our methods (switch).

@Kreco no luck.. same result as before. The bin file gets uploaded but the router restarts right away.. can you send me a link to the bin file you flashed on yours? They remove the old ones from the website...

I don't know what could be wrong, did you turn off the firewall ..? https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202001/20200123/Archer%20C6(EU)_V2_020110.zip

@Kreco me neither... the tftpd output seems right, but the router just restarts after:

@Kreco I can always upload the openwrt firmware successfully through tftpd, it uploads and the router starts processing and restarts after 1/2min, but if i try the original firmware, like i said before, it just reboots... i'm stuck...

Hey, did you deal with the problem? I waited for the new firmware and I could not stand it, I uploaded OpenWrt again, tested it and I want to go back to 1.2.1, but I can't, I do it as before and nothing. After flashing, it's still OpenWrt. Do you know any solution? I have the same as you.
