Cannot set notifications on Smart Router SR20 + CS100 (Zigbee) "Operation Failed"

I've setup my SR20 home router (behind another router that is connected to the internet) and successfully connected CS100 Open/Close sensor via the Kasa App. 

However when I trie and enable notifcations for the sensor in the Kasa app I get the following message "Operation Failed, Please try again later." and the toggle will not move. I get no notfications when the sensor state has changed (open/closed) but it does show up as open/closed in the Kasa App.

 

How can I fix this issue? The whole point of the SR20 router + Door sensor is to get notified when the a door or window is open.

Hello,

 

Please verify if the SR20 is connected to the internet successfully when it is plugged into another router. May I have your network layout that how this SR20 is connected?

 

It is suggested to change the DNS server on the main router to a third-party server such as Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then try to enable the Notification on the Kasa app again.

 

BTW, please ensure both the SR20 firmware and the Kasa app are up-to-date, thanks.
