Frequent wifi discoonection with Archer C5 V4 model - 5GHz band only
Hi, I am using an Archer C5 V4 model provided by ACT. I have frequent wifi disconnection issue with 5GHz band. I did a bit of google search and found that the same model has got the issue in the Russian version and there is a fix provided in the form of firmware update. Refer link below:

Can you please do the needful for the same in India as well.
Note: The model I am using is Archer C5 V4 and this community page doesnt even list this product.

@Kevin_Z hey kevin. Purchased the said router last week from a local reseller and have been facing the same disconnection issue on the 5ghz band after every 10 mins. PFA the bottom label of the router for your reference. Have redacted sensitive information for obvious security reasons. Also, find below the detailed firmware version as shown on the router web interface.
Device Information
Firmware Version: 3.16.0 0.9.1 v6015.0 Build 190627 Rel.41124n
Hardware Version: Archer C5 v4 00000004

Hello, thank you both again for bringing this up, while we are sorry that the issue still persists.
When the 5GHz clients drop the connection, are they still showing connected to the 5GHz network, or they just quit? Are both the wired and 2.4GHz connection on the C5 V4 stable?
When did this issue begin to happen? When you just purchased it or used it for a while? Try to reset it to factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch.
What are the devices connected to the 5GHz? What if they connect to other 5GHz network? Ensure the OS version of system version of those devices are up-to-date.
Have a nice day.

Hi, im from Czech Republic - same issues here. Router is from reseller. I tryed network roaming on/off, all channels 2.4/5G.. still the same problem with disconnecting wifi with latest firmware 3.16.0 0.9.1 v600c.0 Build 191107 Rel.15316n. I had to buy two 10m UTP cables for my laptops, because be connected on VPN with this wifi problem is impossible. I would try BETA firmware, that you suggested 🙂. Im looking forward for firmware fix.

Hello, do you mean both 2.4G and 5G are experiencing this dropout even after you tried to adjust the channel settings on the C5 V4? We are sorry that we don't have a beta firmware for it, and we are not sure where did @Teja_ got that beta version.
Please try to confirm some details, and we will try to help you out:
1. How many devices are connected to the C5 wireless, 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Are all of them having the same dropout issue?
2. When the 5GHz (or 2.4GHz) clients drop the connection, are they still showing connected to the 5GHz (or 2.4GHz) network, or they just quit? Are both the wired and 2.4GHz connection on the C5 V4 stable?
3. When did this issue begin to happen? When you just purchased it or used it for a while? Try to reset it to factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch.
4. Ensure the OS version of system version of those devices are up-to-date.
Thanks a lot.

@Kevin_Z Hi, i try answer some of your questions.
I dont see any trouble when wifi have small trafic. I tried small test bellow - Problem appeard if i downloaded linux iso about 2 GB from my phone (phone has 2.4 and 5 GHz). Sending screenshots from administration of my router, next screen is from my laptop, which wasnt connected to wifi - only ran NetSpot software for monitoring wifi and last screen is from monitoring app on my phone. On screenshot you can see no wifi signal for 2.4 and 5 GHz. And on my phone (which was making traffic by downloading Linux iso) i see same outage in same time. Router was in the moment of outage relative warm and its in horizontal position (i will try hang on wall because maybe is better for cooling). On wifi was only two mobile phones and my laptop over cable.
Connected devices. First phone is mine, which downloading big files via wifi for this test.
Screen from my laptop. Downloading from my phone started about 10:30. I dont know why is signal of 5GHz better after first drop 😮. Im in small flat, router 3 meter from me..
My phone
My phone after drop shows available wifi but isnt connected in that moment. After couple seconds connect to my wifi again. That is how i find problems with my wifi. Sorry, i dont know when this issues starts 😑. I will try later reset router to default, set router to vertical position on wall and maybe more test.
EDIT: Yes, laptop and my phone are on latest software version.
EDIT2: When traffic on wifi isnt intensive, browsing web
Thank you!
