Burty, IP address of TL-WR740N can be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
If both of them are not working, check default gateway of your network connection.

Burty, you also need to make sure you are on the same range as the device.

If you are on 192.168.1.x and the router is on 192.168.0.x then by default you will not be able to see it.

Where did you get that 192.168.0.254 from? If it is from a guide of some sort, let us know so we can look it over.

As said above, the defaults are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

If you are trying to access the router configuration page using a wired connection (as you should) you should also set up your wired network adapter to use DHCP (obtain an IP address automatically and obtain a DNS address automatically).

Anytimer - 192.168.0.254 is my default IP for the 702N nano router, it is printed on the bottom - this maybe the same for burty and the make they are using - country dependant perhaps?

Thanks for clearing that up, ubertechieuk.

burty: in the prperties of you connection, click details and see what IP address and gateway your network adapter is using.

Could anybody assist? I have just bought a 150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router Model No. TL-WR702N.
I have only managed to get it going with security disabled. I use a WEP Security Encryption key on the router normally, but have disabled so I can use the TL-WR702N.
Question is, do I need security on the router, the TL-WR702N or both? I have tried doing this but end with a fail. If the signal is encrypted already from the router and the TL-WR702N just extends the signal, why security on the TL-WR702N.? I guess the TL-WR702N. has to join the network and therefore needs a pass key, but from disabled, which unit do I security enable first, does it make a difference...

As you can tell, I am somewhat confused about this..... Any help greatly appreciated as I do not want to really have an open network!
