"Weak Wifi Security" on iOS 14 (beta) for Deco M5
hi,
the lack of WPA3 support OR the ability to disable WPA have been plaguing the Deco product line for quite a while.
as if to make things worse, it seems that new device operating systems (desktop and mobile) are now gradually starting to classify WPA networks as unsafe.
this is a major issue because it would mean that someone like me that has a work iPhone (and laptop) won't be able to connect to my home Wifi (Deco M5 x 6) because the corporate security agent grabs the network classification from the operating system.
it is true that this is currently "just" an issue with people using developer betas of their iOS, but this is going to publicly released in mid September which would make this a significant issue.
so it basically boils down to this -
what is the ETA on providing firmware that would support WPA3?
as a quick and simple alternative - how fast can you release a firmware that allows disabling WPA?
PLEASE don't bother replying with "we're working on it" etc.
just be honest and tell us if/when these modifications are going to be made. even an honest "we won't do it" answer is better than the answers we have been getting in the past 10-12 months.

Update:
This issue has been fixed already and currently, almost all the latest firmware versions of Deco support changing security mode.
So if you still have the weak security error, please make sure the firmware version and the Deco APP version are both up-to-date.
Here for Deco M5, the latest firmware is 1.5.7.
Thank you very much.

no response from anyone at TP-Link...?
which brings up the question - after reading some other posts here, are there ANY TP-Link employees monitoring and participating in any of the discussions here?

Hello, this will be forwarded as a feature request to the developers and they will take a look if we can support it in the foreseeable future.
BTW, you may pay attention to the compatibility list on the official website:
