Hello.

I've been using the Archer VR900 for a few months. I know it offers the option of using a 4G USB dongle as a backup option in case the line connection fails. My question is: if it switches to the dongle, will the router still send a wifi signal or does a 4G dongle only work for devices that are connected via ethernet?

Otherwise I'm thinking of buying an Archer MR600 standalone 4G router, but of course that's a more expensive backup option.

Thanks for your help.

@KPG

Hello,

Here is an instruction you can refer to set up the 3G/4G as a backup:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1732/

If switches to the dongle, the router will work as a 3G/4G router, and you can also receive the wifi signal from it, not just wired connection.

Hope it can help and have a nice day!
