Deco m9 plus v2 update?
Hello, I would like to know if there will be a new update for this version. I bought this product thinking that I would solve my Internet connection problems, and I see that if it fulfills its function but has very limited functions and for the price it has I find that it does not meet the expectations, that is why I speak for many users who need to know if this version will have a new update since it has been many months and we have only received answers avoiding the subject.
Please we need to know if this version will have a new update and especially if you will have concisable improvements

My deco System is V2. I bought the pack of 3 last Wednesday. When I installed them, the firmware was 1.2.11 Build 20190926 Ref. 55727.
I have installed the new firmware listed en this post, using my Windows 10 computer, connected by Ethernet to the one slave deco (where is conected my pc by Ethernet). As It seemed that nothing had happened, I tried to update conecting a portatil pc (also Windows 10) to main deco and after that I have installed the firmware 1.4.0 Build 20200324 Ref. 53529 inside the main deco and other one. But the 3rd deco M9+ V2 of my system have been not updated.
After that, I connected my computer into one ethernet port of the 3rd deco and I have tried to update these deco but it is imposible.
So now I have 2 decos with the firmware 1.4.0 Build 20200324 Ref. 53529 and 1 deco with firmware was 1.2.11 Build 20190926 Ref. 55727. I confirm that all 3 decos are M9 plus V2.
Mybe my falut was not to run first the update into the secod slave deco before of update the main deco. So the secuence must be slave - slave - main?
What can I do to update this deco? I have tried several time and it's frustrating.

Hello, sorry about that.
When you run the upgrade tool on your Windows 10 computer and scan for the Deco devices, how many Deco M9 Plus can you find? If you can find all the three but failed to upgrade the 3rd unit, can I have the error screenshot?
BTW, are all three M9 online on the Deco app? A screenshot would be nice.
Thanks.

So upgrading via the tool instead of the web interface is the way to go via Ethernet connected to slave.....slave......main? Appreciate all the help here...

Hello, sorry to make you confused by the upgrade process.
Actually, you may just leave them as they are, no need to connect them one by one to the computer to perform the updates. For example, if you three Decos are connected in this way: modem--main Deco)))(((2nd Deco))(((3rd Deco, that is OK for the update, just leave them connected in this way, and connect the main Deco to your computer and run the Upgrade Tool to update the firmware.
Or, you may refer to @Navalin's suggestion, you can connect all three to your computer one by one with an Ethernet cable to do the update.
May it help.

Hello.
When I run the the upgrade tool on my Windows 10 computer and scan for the Deco devices, I can found my 3 deco m9+ correctly. When the upgrade has finisched there are no error messege but if I chenk into my Deco App, I can see that only 2 have been upgrade correctly to the new firmware but not the other one.
Into my Deco App I can see the 3 decos. They are conected in the way modem--main Deco)))(((2nd Deco))(((3rd Deco, and the update fails in the 2nd Deco. Main Deco and 3rd Deco are correctly updated.

So it sounds like the preferred method is to use an Ethernet cable with my Windows 10 laptop computer and connect one by one to the slave Deco units first and then the main deco unit last by running the upgrade tool to upgrade the firmware ---I'm going to give it a shot....
I just don't understand the difference between using the upgrade tool versus something called the web interface.....

This explanation seems to indicate that the connection between main Deco and 2nd Deco is wireless, because otherwise there is not enough ethernet ports on the Main Deco. In my case I have wired CAT6 backhaul between Main Deco and 2nd Deco and no free ethernet ports on the Main Deco. So you suggest to unplug the CAT6 cable between Main Deco and 2nd Deco and connect the computer with upgrade tool to the free port on the Main Deco? As far as I can understand what you are saying, the slave Decos (2nd and 3rd) should automatically be upgraded wirelessly in this process, by running the Upgrade Tool only once. Can you confirm please?

initially that's what I thought but then in a later post they said each unit individually has to be connected via an Ethernet cable in order to be updated and several users posted the same certainly confusing! Some even posted screenshots within the Deco app to prove the version each unit was on.
