Deco P9 error: daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 20 ??
Hi All,
Looking for some assistance from other Deco P9 users.
I've noticed my P9 is reporting the following error "daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 20", approximately 20+ times per minute. I've also noticed the P9 is repeatedly experiencing 100% CPU utilisation (load), and am wondering if the two could be related. I've contacted tp-link support, who've advised they can't see any issue with the device.
However, I'd be grateful if other Deco P9 users could check and advise if the same / similar error is being reported by their P9 systems in the (Notice, Error, Warning) logs?
Thank for the assistance.

@FireDZ I change the topology of my network.
I installed my Fritzbox router as router (wifi disabled) and the 3 decos are now all access point. The 'main' deco is connected to the lan port of the Fritzbox.
This has been working great the last few days. No lag or drops.
i have a total of about 12 wireless devices connected.
Old toplogy:
VDSL modem > Port Deco 1 (router mode)
Deco 1 (router mode) > Deco 2 AP (5 meter, 1 wall) > Deco 3 AP (5 meter first floor, concrete with steel).
The new topolgy is:
VDSL modem > Wan port Fritzbox (firewall, port-redirection, dhcp etc..)
Lan Port 1 Fritzbox > Main deco AP > Deco 2 AP (5 meter, 1 wall) > Deco 3 AP (5 meter first floor, concrete with steel).
Lan port 2 Fritzbox > rest of the network (Synology, main PC, 2 pihole, docker server, IoT hubs etc)
On both Deco 2 and 3 there are devices connected by wire. They max out on internet speed (100Mbit).
The main AP has a cpu load between 5% and 70%. This is a lot lower than in router mode.
Memory about 50%.
Seems that the router function of a Deco is part of the problem.
Hope this helps.
I will keep this setup because the router function of the Deco is too limited for me (no DNS settings in DHCP etc).

sorry for not replying. Nothing yet.
I am pretty sure they don't take this as a priority since its been months now.

I've noticed a new firmware is now available on global support site
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-p9/#Firmware
Since it claims for improved stability I've installed it in my 3 deco setup but after less than a day same instability problems are happening.
Only configuration stable is with 2 units (in my case are both connected through Ethernet wired line in AP mode). Adding the 3rd unit either using Ethernet, WiFi or PLC backhaul the entire network crashes after some hours with no internet connectivity and SIGTERM messages appearing in logs.
please investigate further on the issue and provide new firmware update because latest published doesn't solve.

I am being disconnect with signal being weaker now.
Before the update, worked a lot better.
Will dig through logs today in order to see what is happening.

Our wifi is a lot less stable with cleints disconnecting and not being able to find the wifi for a minute and then it`s back on.
No such interface error is gone. A lot of warnings of Failed to get uplink rssi...
Anybode experiencing the loss of wifi stability with the update?

@FireDZ Has anybody updated to one of the two latest updates? I am still on 52023. Yesterday and this morning I had to reboot all p9's for the first time in weeks.
Is it possible to manually flash an older firmware if a newer one is applied?
In that case, are older firmwares available for download?

I have just done it, since the new firmware enables the WPA/WPA2 switching.
We have brought it to their attention a long time ago, and just know when they got pressured from apple users since all iPhones with new software got an error that the WIFI is not secure, since it wasn't. They were using WPA as well.
I will know the stability in a few days.

I updated a few days ago; stability appears unchanged. Additionally, the volume of errors in logs is unchanged!
