I have the same problem in the Kali.
I've already managed to get Kali to recognize networks with the process below:
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y
sudo apt install git dkms
git clone https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au.git
cd rtl8812au
sudo ./dkms-install.sh
Restart Kali
The problem is that it can't connect.
In Ubuntu this process worked and connected normally.
