Archer AX6000 Firmware upgrade ruined everything. Cant go back?
Hi bought the Archer AX6000 and i was happy enough with it. NO real issues.
Yesterday I got an update for firmware, which i did using the Routers inbuilt tool.
Then the problems began.
I couldnt reconnect any of my Google Home speakers each complaining the Netowrk was in AP mode, which is clearly wasnt.
I factory reset the router and started from scratch which took a considerable ammount of time but i still cannot get the home network back to its pre Firmware upgrade state.
All day yesterday your support site was offline for me which is pretty unacceptable, there was no way i could get the old Firmware downloaded so....
I eventually gave up and today have downloaded the 2 previous official EU firmwares. 2020/02/12 and 2019/08/02.
Unzipped them and connected to the router via rj45 to flashback to the previous version... Its not the first time i do firmware i know what im doing.
AND... Nope it just says nope. cannot do it. It wont accept an older file?
Please i am so fed up with this damn router.
I thought id be upgrading to a decent wifi6 experaince with everything i need for the next 5 years but nope its a massive pain in the arse to be honest and im regrettting the purchase.
I cant even find patch notes on the firmware that got updated.... its like its a ghost release
PLEASE PLEASE

Same issues here.
This is kind of beyond a joke.
How am I honestly meant to recommend these devices to customers, whose tech skill are limited to choosing PPPoE or Dynamic up modes when setting up and even then they get it wrong? Stop releasing half baked firmware’s My 2.4 will not talk to my 5 network, my 5 network continually locks up and requires a restart and my net connection is more flakey than fresh baked puff pastry.
The previously listed fixes are not working either.
I came from an AirPort Extreme which is 8 years old and the only reason I upgraded was due to the USB port no longer working. Apart from that it never skipped a beat. All my IoT devices (Cygnett plugs, LIFX bulbs, HomePods) just worked. Now it’s constant headaches.
Either give us an updated beta, an ability to roll back this rubbish firmware or I’m going to have to junk this router and stop recommending these products to people.
It’s a sad day when Tenda becomes a more reliable brand to recommend.

@Akuini same here
Two things I found is that the 5G connection drops and then about 30 seconds later the WAN port shuts down.
Wait 1.5 mins and the HFC NBN reboots again and we start the cycle again.
The other is 2.4 and 5 are now talking to each other which is a bonus. But while testing I've split the networks as the smart wifi feature seemed to just grab 2.4 every time due to the 5 taking a bit longer to come alive.
It would also be good if they could add a release option in dhcp client list so we can easily remove devices when having to reset the network. Atm the are locked in until the lease expires.
Also would be good if we could manually set WAN throughput to 100/1000/2500 so we could rule out if the WAN port is over saturating the port.

I was told that you can back out from this firmware beta version.
Has anyone tried? And if so, which version did you back out too?

I'm glad im not the only one who has this issue! I updated yesterday and have had nothing but unstable WiFi ever since. Works for a bit but then just completely stops. Mostly on 5GHz, however 2.4GHz also seems slow. How has this bets firmware worked for people? And is the an NZ/AUS version?
Thanks!

Since I was told this beta can be backed out. I would love to know if someone would be willing to try installing either the version which doesn't work or the previous version which did work and see if it can be downgraded and if its only to the last failed version or the previous good version too. All of these firmware releases are available on their website.
I would do it, but I only have certain days when I can take down the network as my wife runs her business on it.
Thanks for any help and info.

I tried it, did not solve my problem. It would not let me go back to the firmware that worked, it did let me go back to the firmware that has the issues everyone is complaining about.
