Model: Archer C20  
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 3.16.0.0.9.1v 6038.0

I have brought archer c20 router and was configured perfectly as mentioned in guide book. 

When I am trying to connect my router to tether application its showing my router with unknown device and I am unable to connect to it. I have connect to the main network itself not to guest network and also checked the compatability too archer c20 supports tether application. Kindly please resolve my issue.

I am also having same issue, i talked with TP-Link technical support they confirmed V5 Indian version will not support Tether App. TP-Link selling limited feature routers indian market compared to global market. Surprisingly TP-Link website says it supports Tether App but actually not. We should look for other brand i guess, its waste of money, other brand's low price routers below 1000/- also supporting TetherApp.

@nalla I am facing the same issue while connecting to theter app. It is not detected the router. Could you please help me. If you figured out.

I am not configured, no way to configure as TP-Link is not supporting. We should return the router and buy other brand

Tp-link actually fraud their customers just like made in china items. In their Archer C20 V5 quick installation guide their clearly give description about how to use Tether app for quick configuration. You can also check in their website also https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/download/archer-c20/

 

I am uploading the file where you see, how they are given wrong information to their customers. Right now they have no plan to introduce the Tether app compatibility with tp-link archer C20 V5.
