Connecting DecoP9 to power cable extender WPA8630P (1300MBPS)
Hi
I am about to buy a DecoP9 mesh setup for at home, but need to check first if the following will work to solve my problems (old house, very thick walls, and little ability to pick up separate wireless networks in the front and back of the house).
Can I do the following (please note - I have very limited knowledge of networks/wifi!):
In the front of the house:
internet->Virgin Superhub 2 (modem) -> ethernet cable -> DECOP9(1)
then connect to DECOP9(1) as follow to reach the back of the house to have two further DECOP9 units:
DECOP9(1) -> ethernet cable -> WPA8630 (1) -> connection via power cable to the back of the house -> WPA8630 (2) -> ethernet cable -> DECOP(2) and then connect DECOP9(3) by wifi.
Total setup should therefore look as follow:
internet->Virgin Superhub 2 (modem) -> ethernet cable -> DECOP9(1) -> ethernet cable -> WPA8630 (1) -> connection via power cable to the back of the house -> WPA8630 (2) -> ethernet cable -> DECOP(2) and then connect DECOP9(3) by wifi.
I would appreciate if you could let me know if this setup would be possible, and to have a meshed network using the power cable to connect the back tow DECOP9 units to the front DECOP9 unit.
And if it is possible, what would be the best way to ensure that the three DECOP9 units are paired / "know" each other (i.e., should I first pair units 2 and 3 with unit 1 via wifi when all in close proximity before movings units 2 and 3 to the back of the house, or how should this be done?)?
Many thanks, in advance
Charlie
