Deco E4 requires a refresh to load pages
Im having issues with basically anything connected to my network, it seems as though the initial connection to the internet doesnt connect properly. Perhaps the clearest way to explain this is if i want to view a web page it will try to load and the majority of times it fails to load or takes a long time, however if i hit refresh it loads fine.
Im having the same issue and anything connected, Ipad, IPhone, Laptop, TVs and Playstation.
Could it be a clash or hang up between the router and deco? im hoping its just a setting somewhere i need to change
Any help would be much appreciated.

To better help you, please help to confirm the following information.
1. Would you please describe your network diagram in detail? How many Deco do you have? Are the Deco units connect to each other via wired or wireless? Do they on the same floor?
2. What's the operation mode of the Deco?
3. Do you have the problem when you connect your device to your router's network directly?
4. Does the problem happens all the time or just happens sometimes?

@TP-Link_Deco Thanks for the Reply
ill answer as best i can!
1 - I have 6 decos, the main deco connected to the router (Huawei B535 4G) is in the middle of the House, the rest are dotted around the house accross 2 floors. All Deco's are connected Wireless and all except one show strong reception.
2 - I changed the operation mode to Access Point when this issue first occured and it didnt make any difference. its still set to Acess Point. Fast Roaming is enabled as well as Beamforwarding. 2.4ghz and 5ghz are enabled.
3 - When i connect to the router directly i do not have the problem.
4 - Initially the problem was all the time, but 2 weeks ago it just started working. Ive had no problems at all for 2 weeks, then yesterday half way through the day its just reverted back and i need to try everything twice.
Thanks
Nick

I am encountering the same issue. On multiple computers/devices, I often get a page not found error, which is solved by refreshing - often requiring a number of refreshes.
I have 3 Deco M4(R) units, installed on the same floor. They are in access point mode, with one unit attached to the cable modem/router. Backhaul is wireless, with the two other units being linked to the main unit. The issue occurs on iphone and mac, both wirelessly connected to the main unit or satellite units, and with a wired connection to the satellite unit.
This was not a problem when I first installed the system, a few weeks ago. However, it has become worse over the course of last week. I have rebooted individual Decos and the main router. I have also disabled "fast roaming", to no avail.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thank you.
Simon

Hi, thank you very much for your concern about this case.
We would like to check some basic information before it Is forwarded to the senior engineers:
1. Would changing the DNS server under the IPV4>WAN make any difference?
2. When the websites take multiple refresh to load, would the speed test slow down?
3. What is the model number of your home router? And as for the VPN server, did it refer to the main router?
4. Without the Deco system, would you still have the same issue?
Thanks a lot and wait for your reply.

Thank you for looking into this.
It appears I may have been too quick to point the finger to the (new) Deco M4 in our household. I have done some further investigation and it seems the issue lies with my ISP. They use IPv6 with DS-lite, which forwards IPv4 traffic in a tunnel to their own "carrier grade NAT" (CGNAT). The CGNAT apparently has a fairly low limit on the number of maximum connections, which causes it to send ICMP "unreachable" responses once that limit is exceeded. I can see a flood of such packets coming in using the tcpdump command, once a large number of connections has been made.
I am now trying to resolve this with the ISP.
For completeness, here is the response to your queries:
1) The M4 is in AP mode, so I do not have these settings. I am unable to change the DNS settings in the modem/router.
2) No. Once a connection is established, it is fast and solid.
3) The modem/router is an Arris model. You can see it (in Dutch) here: https://www.ziggo.nl/klantenservice/wifi/modem/connect-box
4) Yes, the issue persists when I disconnect the Deco system and hook my laptop up to the router by ethernet.
Thanks once again.
