X60 as Access Point setup - how does backhaul work?

Model: Deco
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Setup:

- cable modem / router in the basement, connected to a Netgear switch; ethernet cables throughout the house

- cable service 300 Mbps

- 3-piece kit Deco X60

I can connect 2 Deco units to the router via Ethernet cable. The 3rd Deco unit will be connected via wireless to the other Deco units. I understand that in this case all three Deco units need to be setup as Access Points.

Questions:

1) How does the backhaul work in this setup? Through the ethernet cable or wirelessly?

2) In this configuration, is the mesh system still on with respect to seamless roaming, fast roaming, etc?

@ReallyHopeful

For the two Deco units which are connected to the switch, the Ethernet backhaul is working, for the 3rd Deco, the wireless backhaul is working.

And in the network diagram, the mesh system is still on with respect to seamless roaming, fast roaming.
