Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 0.2 v0093.0 Build 190125 Rel.63783n(4555)

Hi everybody, I'm Giorgio and I'm new on the forum.

I was directed here from the support link in the main site, since the email supporto or live-chat are not available or slow due to the world-crisis (is written so...).

My problem is the following:
I am using the Archer C50 as a WiFi Access-Point; the main router is a Fritzbox 5490.
The Archer is connected to the Fritzbox via cat. 5e Ethernet cable.
The Fritzbox port is set at 1Gbps speed.
The cable enters the Archer into the blue socket.
Everything works fine, but Fritzbox says the LAN speed is 100 Mbps.
How come? Are there any limitations from the Archer C50 on the blue port?

If the Archer C50 supports up to 1200 Mbps on the two cmbinate WiFi bands, the blue input LAN-port should be 1Gbps, or am I wrong?

Thanks for the support!

@GiorgioW

Hi, the Archer C50 has the 100Mbps ethernet ports, that is why the fritzbox said the LAN speed is 100Mbps.

Meanwhile, the 1200Mbps you mentioned is the wireless link speed in the PHY layer, which is not the actual speed you can get. Instead, the actual speed is affected by a lot of factors, including the bandwidth, the capability of the router/modem, distance, obstacles and so on.

All in all, the current LAN speed is normal due to the standard of the LAN port.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

Thank you Kevin_Z for your kind answer.
I see, then it is my mistake in evaluating the product at purchase. However, in my opinion this feature was not highlighted enough among the product features.

If I can ask another question here to the forum participants: if I disconnect the Archer C50 from the LAN (cabling) can I use it as a WiFi extender-repeater? I don't think I saw such a possibility in the settings, unfortunately.

Thanks again to everyone.
