Hi

I have just purchased a RE300 to use as a range extender, hoping to create a seamless mesh network

My router is a FritzBox 7530 (AVM6591) which is configured as the mesh master, but the RE300 has created an additional -EXT network, rather than mesh.

Both device firmware are up to date.

Are there different versions of mesh networking? Are my devices not compatible?

Sorry if I'm being dim, but I'm a simple home user.

Many thanks

@PWMesh

Hi, to build up a Onemesh network, a router and a network expansion device that both support the Onemesh feature are needed at least. In other words, the RE300 can create a mesh network with TP-Link Onemesh router, like Archer A7, Archer C7 V5.

For the Fritzbox, I'm afraid that they are not able to create a mesh network due to the different brands and the possible different mesh mechanisms.

Good day.
