I have an Archer C2300 and an R305 range extender in my network. I would like to set up a mesh to cover off some black spots and to avoid drop outs during WiFi calls for instance.

the R305 has the Onemesh firmware. But there is no support for the C2300. Can I set up a mesh by adding another R305 or do I need a router that supports Onemesh too

Hello, yes, you need a router that supports the Onemesh feature as well.

FYI, at least a router and a network expansion device (like range extender)are needed to build up a mesh network.

Below is the compatibility list of Onemesh.

@Kevin_Z  thanks.

i guess I am stuck then. Bought the router recently so can't get rid of it. Hopefully the C2300 gets a Onemesh firmware too soon.

Hi, the Archer C2300 is not included on the compatibility list of Onemesh. If you do want to use Onemesh feature, it is suggested to order a device which supports Onemesh already. Like Archer A7 V5.

Good day.
