Archer AX11000 Speed Drops
Archer AX11000 Speed Drops
I recently updated the firmware to the latest and I am getting speed drops. I have a TX3000E WiFi adapter connected to the AX11000. At first I am getiing 2.4Gbps when the router is powered on. But after a few hours, the speed drops to less than 50%. The only way I can fix this is to power off the router and power it on again. Even rebooting does not solve the problem. Is this a firmware issue or hardware issue?

with reset, I mean Reboot from the app. After it reboots the internet speed goes back to normal.
Here is another screenshot showing more variations on WAN speed.

I recently purchased Archer AX11000 to replace my Archer C4000. But looks like the WiFi speed drops to around ~250 Mbps with Archer AX11000 where as I used to get ~650 Mbps with Archer C4000. Please let me know what's going on with this router, is this related firnware or something else. I see lots of similar complaints in this posts. do we have a timeframe to get a fix of this issue?

Hi, have you referred to my previous reply to Polito? Please confirm is it the wireless speed or wired one when testing with the AX11000, thanks.
Meanwhile, please check the QoS setting on the AX11000, ensure it is on the Standard mode, you may manually input the upload and download to 999 Mbps, then reboot the AX11000 and the computer, reconnect to the network and confirm.

I am refering here WiFi speed, I just have made the change in the upload and download bandwith numbers as you suggested, the QoS setting already set as Standard. After changing the seetings and reboting the router the wifi speed increased by ~50Mbps but still it's not at per with the speed I used to get with Archer C4000. It's still significantly lower speed than what ISP providings and Archer C4000 used to provide over Wifi.

I changed the QoS Upload and Download bandwidths to zero (0). Also I selected custom button with all normal instead of choosing standard button. Now the WiFi speed increased drastically, I am getting now ~600Mbps which I used to get with Archer C4000

Hi, this sounds interesting, please monitor its performance with this kind of setting and see if it is stable.

@Andy72 Two days ago my system started performing poorly. It may be different because power cycling doesn't seem to help
AX11000 v1.6
firmware: 1.2.3 Build 20210709 rel 14861(5553)
QoS = Standard
OFDM = enabled
Smart Connect = disabled
In my case, the internet to wifi unit speed test on the AX1100 was 84 MBps. If my laptop was within a 3 feet, I got 28 MBps. If 20 ft away I got 1 MBps.
This was the same speed recorded on multiple laptops on our household
After I changed the Smart Connect to enabled, we now get 30 MBps at 20 ft. This may be indicative of one of the band amplifiers failing. The Smart Connect is switching to the better band. That's my guess as far fetched as it may be.
Smart Connet help:
Smart Connect allows each of the router's wireless bands to use the same wireless settings. The router can balance network demand and assign devices to the optimum band.
Another odd thing is that although the sticker on the btm of my AX11000 says v1.6, the firmware under System -> Firmware Upgrade says its v1.0 hardware. Strange.
