Hello,

I'm noticing often that when the internet connection on the main router is slow, the mobile devices connected to  my TL-WA750RE are disconnected and the extended signal is not visible for some time.

How comes that ?

@nocturnal

Please give me the below details so that we can do more troubleshooting.
a. What's the light status of the 750RE and main router when the extender stops working?

b. How often it drops connection, and can you see the extender's wifi at that time?

c. Please connect your computer to the 750RE directly when the connections drop out. And please check the IP address, default gateway and DNS server as the below instruction.
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/
Note: Please show me the screenshot of the status-details page.

d. At that time, please connect your computer to the main router directly and test the IP, default gateway and DNS too.

e. How far away between the extender and main router? Try to move it closer to the main router and test the performance.

f. Please enusre that the firmware is up to date.

Thanks in advance, and have a good day.

@Kevin_Z ,

this behaviour happens only when the connection on the main router is slow and the extender WIFI SSID disappears and comes back all the time (so I notice frequent connections/disconnections of the devices connected to the extender). Once the main router gained the full working connection again, there's no more issue on the extender.

The extender issue is updated to the last firmware.

I see, thanks for your information. It seems that the main router affects the performance of the extender.

First, you can contact the tech support of the router to get some suggestions to optimize the performance.Like change the wireless settings, including wifi name and password; update the firmware or so.

And you can assign a static IP for the extender on the RE.

May it help.
