Model: RE365
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20180213 Rel. 56309

I have a problem with this beautiful range extender:

it -like other range extenders- creates VIRTUAL Mac addresses of the connected devices, and this causes connection errors with smartphone apps that work in P2P.

(example: apps for cameras and air conditioners that rely on external servers).

mine (and also many other users too) is not a problem of Mac filter into router or ports (my router is a tp-link TL-MR6400)

but the connected devices that with the change of Mac address no longer communicates with the server of the manufacturing company.

from what I have read on the net, it is because the extender works in Proxy mode, while it does not work in WDS..

do you confirm this

can you release a firmware that makes it work also in WDS?

otherwise I will have to return the product...

There is a range extender in the tp-link catalog that works in WDS mode?

Thanks

Fla76

looking at this list I seem to understand that all the latest generation's extenders, (those over 300mb/s) only work in Proxy,

and this I think is a bad choice by tp-link

no way out..

in addition to RE365 I also purchased TL-WA860RE, but each of them repeaters change Mac addresses of connected devices!

I was hoping that TL-WA860RE wouldn't, and instead it does too..

both returned to Amazon!!

No one can show me some model of wifi repeater that does not change these damned Mac addresses?
