DECO M9 plus v2 cant update to latest firmware
Hi,
I have the DECO M9 plus v2 3 pack. the current firmware installed is 1.2.10 build 20190809.
On the website of TP-link the latest firmware is. Deco M9 Plus(EU)_V2_200117
Via the DECO app it say latest firmware is installed.
I wanted to install it via the GUI, but there is no GUI availeble or its disabled.
How to proceed to install the latest firmware?
Thanks,
Marcel

Ended up just returing the TP Link Decco M9 set from Costco even after trying the latest firmware. The Decco set is NOT very intelligent and would have my devices connecting and staying attached to the furthest link with a very weak wifi signal when I had 3 nodes in a linear topology. I tried an experiment and just used 2 of the 3 nodes to help avoid that issue. Didn't matter...Clients were still connecting to the furthest node. Work video calls are a disaster with the Decco set. And these clients are running the latest WiFi 5 protocols (Galaxy S10e and X1 Carbon Gen7) so its not that.
Ended up just using two dual band Asus RT-AC68U routers with Asus's AiMesh technology. I spent $75 on Craigslist for these two 4 year old routers and the speed and coverage just blows away the 3 puck Deco M9 set for a third of the price. Asus routers expose the right amount of settings to configure it just right for your home, and clients switch between the two routers just fine. The wifi signal from the radios on a router just blow away these Decco pucks, so you only need 2 routers for even better coverage.
Part of the problem with the pucks is the wifi signal is so limited that you need so many of them for coverage, sometimes in a linear topology. This leads to all the issues like clients holding on to the wrong node etc.
Another major plus of the Asus AiMesh route...you get to use/reuse older routers instead of throwing them in the landfill.

I cannot login to the utility firmware app. I checked the FAQ mentioned somewhere, I do not have any virtual machines/vpn. The password is correct, checked and even changed in the phone app. I made before updates via the app, i had no issues.
Current firmware version 1.5.0, wanted to update to 1.5.1
Any ideas?

Hi, did you mean the manual firmware upgrade tool or the Deco APP?—can I have a picture?
If you are already on the 1.5.0 which supported web UI, you could try to update the firmware via web interface: http://tplinkdeco.net
Thank you very much.

Hi, here are the screenshots, both from my computer app (M9Plus_2.0_upgrade_tool_v1.1.1_win32.exe) and the Android app. The webpage is not working.

I am getting the same exact error. The provided Windows utility simply doesn't work. It rejects the login just like for the last poster.
If it helps, I am using a Windows 10 64-bit OS, like most users with Windows 10 in this age. If TP-Link is developing their tools compatible only in 32-bit environments and not testing in 64-bit ones, they have no real long-term future as a technology company. I even disabled my desktop firewalls and antivirus and tried a direct ethernet connection. Same failure.
There is NO Web GUI. Please see my post in another thread raising the lack of Web GUI. The http://tplinkdeco.net link is a lie. TP-Link appeared to abandon Web GUI support in 1.5.0, after providing in the 1.4 betas. I've tried accessing the main Deco directly via port 30000 with no success.
I managed to get a copy of the upgrade_GDPR.exe utility. I followed the instructions exactly as provided here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179488?page=35. It was able to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.5.0. Now, it gives off an error, claiming it cannot access port 22.

Hi, As for the update assistant, there would be a new version for the firmware after 1.5.0;
For the web UI, the default port for http login is port 80, port 30000 has been deleted by the firmware 1.5.0 already;
So now, you could try to log in via http://tplinkdeco.net or 192.168.68.1
While, if it is not working, please try to clear the browser history or test with a different device;
At the same time, I would follow up on your case by email and please have a check of your email box later.
Thank you very much.
