Hi,

simple question, does the traffic from all deco boxes goes through the principal always, even when using ethernet backhaul and satellites are connected to the same switch the principal and could go straight to modem to go out ?

if yes, the principal will always be the bottleneck, and showing numbers of more than a 1000Mbps for WiFi is flase as the link will always be Gigabit max...

Yes, it is correct.

The traffic will be forwarded to gateway directly when Deco works in AP mode. and connecting Deco3 to Main switch will even be better for clients connected on Deco3 as they will avoid a hop between Main and Edge switch.

Good day.

Hello, when Deco units work in access point mode and connected to the switch by ethernet cable directly, the packets which need go to the WAN side will be forwarded to the gateway directly, which is the main router.

May it help.

@frederikk

Hello,

so to be sure i understand correctly...

For a client connected on Deco1 (main) : data path will be

Path3  -- Path 2 -- Path 1 -- Internet

For a client connected on Deco2 : will data path be

Path 4 -- Path 2 -- Path 1 -- Internet  (this is what i understood from your answer)

and not

Path 4 -- Path3 -- Path3 -- Path 2 -- Path 1 -- Internet

so traffic is not going always through main deco. am I right ? And for example, connecting Deco3 to Main switch will even be better for clients connected on Deco3 as they will avoid a hop between Main and Edge switch ? Still right ?

thank you
