@Willem_3

FYI

It shows the actual M9 the device is on, from where it 'gets its signal', the bands it uses etc.

And sorry, all in Dutch. 😜

@Ahmed.Alazizi

But Google is your friend, so,

Peace with you as well and depending on the system you use (MAC or PC):

download the CORRECT firmware file,

UnZIP / extract it,

download the Update/Utility tool

UnZIP/extract it

run the update tool

indicate the location of the corr3ct Firmware file

and ..... it should work.

You MIGHT have to 'hard-wire (so use a LAN-cable) via the UTP-Port of your main Deco M9,

but it's should/could work wireless as well.

You need to create (or use if already created) your TP-Link account to log in

and well, as always: follow the instructions 👍🏻

Hope this is useful for you.

P.S.  Please don't blame me IF anything goes wrong.

And YES, after upgrading/flashing, give the system some time

The LEDs will flash and change colors and I did get an 'error' on my app initially

(LEDs red on / in the app, but green on the devices and working fine),

but within a few minutes everything was fine.

@SrDarkWarrior

I am in Sweden. Does the v2 upgrade work for me too?

I would be very happy if I could get a step-by-step instruction how to upgrade. I have one v2 and four v1 and dont want to make any mistake like upgrading a v1.

I am a noob, so please be gentle with the instructions.

Do I need a computer or is a samsung tablet enough?

Thanks for any assistance.

@Spiisfint

Hi all, sorry to respond late.

For the issues or inquiries you guys ask, we will try to clarify one by one:

1. We have recently released a new firmware for the Deco M9 Plus V2, and below is the download link, which is marked Deco M9 Plus(EU)_V2_200324, or Deco M9 Plus(US) _V2_200324 on the local official website:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Firmware

2. This new firmware can ONLY be updated via the Upgrade Tool, you cannot update it via web nor on the Deco app. Upgrade Tool can be downloaded from the below link:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Utility

3. If someone cannot log into the Upgrade Tool with your TP-Link ID and password, please try to forget your password on your Deco app and login again to confirm it is correct, do remember that both the ID and password are case-sensitive:

What if I forget the password of my TP-Link ID?

Note: If you still fail to update or login, please reply with some details, such as what is the computer operating system, what is the error message, it is suggested to try different computers.

Thank you all.

Hi, based on the info from TP-link: YES, since Sweden is part of Europe, it should also work for you.

But then a combined system (V1 an V2)) and no PC / computer to fall back to in case of issues ....

I think I'll (have to) leave this to the experts of TP-link.

Some advices though:

I would make the V2 (temporarily or permanently) the main 'hub', so the one directly connected to the UTP-cable (= where your signal enters your house).

Secondly, during the upgrade (= flashing) process, I would unplug ALL V1 devices (better safe than sorry).

And further: Based on all the info and experiences from this and other threads on this, I would say it could (and should) be doable from just a tablet (as long as you can download, Unzip and run both the upgrade tool and the firmware file).

On the TP-website you should be able to find the necessary instructions (also in the upgrade and Firmware ZIP-files).

To  be on the (super) safe side, it would be good if your tablet also has 4G (so a SIM card) to connect to the internet in case of any hick-up, but likely no need for that.

Finally, I will not (try to) make a complete instruction or walk-through since I do not have the same set-up, might miss a step and cause anything I would not like to cause.

KR,

Willem
