TL-WA830RE Range Extender not detecting 5Ghz network
Hi there,
I've gone through several form posts to try and find a simple solution for this, as I'm aware the range extender I have should definitely be compatible with a 5Ghz network. I've tried setting the the channel for the network is set to 36, 38, 40, and 44, and it is never detected when configuring the range extender. Am I missing something else? Any assistance on this would bereally appreciated.
Regards,
Jordan

Hello Jordan, the TL-WA830RE is a single band extender, which supports 2.4GHz only.
That is why it cannot detect the 5GHz.
There are some dual band extenders, like RE200, RE450, RE305 and so on.
May it help.

Good day,
Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
What is the region code of the RE305? Is it EU version?
May I know the model number of your home router?
Have you tried to change the channel of the home router to be channel 40/48?
We used to receive several feedbacks that some routers in India, like Jio JCO4032, Huawei EchoLife HG814v5, fixed their channel as 149 (band 4) but due to CE certification, EU version extenders did not support band 4, only band 1/2/3;
Thank you very much.
