Looked through all the specs and there is nothing saying about the volume number that will not work with XP . The TP-LINK Spec is above and all the web saying the same
Just why cannot understand why as there must loads of frustrated people out there , How do we get this put right for other,s to see ( I no im not in the right place to say all this but mm not good and we have to pay for it ) Im not sure but i think that V1 is not for GB iether .

Hello, as what I mentioned in the other thread you posted, the TL-WN881ND V2 does not support Windows XP. They cannot work together.

Hello, thanks for your valued reply.
The TL-WN881ND V1 does support Windows XP, while V2 does not. The information attached seems to make you confused. Cause there are different hardware versions existed, they may list all OS versions supported by this adapter supports, but no hardware requirement mentioned.
You can contact the retailer to verify whether you can return it and get a V1 or another adapter which supports Windows XP. Like Archer T6E, Archer T8E.
