M5 firmware v 1.4 BRICKS the Deco M5. Do not update
Internet down after update!
Emailed, called China (no one picks up) and useless Malysian hotline. They say they are aware the firmware they pushed out Saturday 11 Jan 2020 morning essentially bricks the Deco5 and they have emailed tech in China who have gone home for the weekend. When they return to the office next week, they will start looking at it.
My Maxis 300 mbps now delivers between 0-1 mbps even though when I use the test built into the deco app, is says 300 mbps is available.
Thankfully I had a backup router which works and delivers my 300 mbps but it's a disaster that tpLink push out a defective firmware on the weekend and then turns off the lights in tech support!

@Kevin_Z My Decos are configured in Router Mode using a Dynamic IP.
I have managed to get it stable for now by doing the following.
I turned off all the decos except the Main one and it was stable.
I turn turned them on one by one until I found the deco that was making everything unstable.
I left just that one off over the weekend and turned it on now.
It flashed red for some then and then started up and this time it did not bring everything down.
So for now it is stable but I would like to have the option to downgrade if it acts up again in the next few days.

Hello TPlink, when will the new firmware be available?

Exactly the same here, random drops from the main deco unit, multiple 'new device' detected for old devices. Any solution to roll firmware back to v 1.3

For what it's worth I found a fix that they apparently released a Beta firmware 1.4.2 which fixes the issue @ https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/187114?page=1
I have not tried this as I am not a fan of Beta's but they are apparently working to get a fix as fast as possible. Seems like this firmware caused these issues for everyone.
