FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE!!
Fed up with this, we need to warn future buyers.
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you are thinking of buying a TP-link mesh set (any model), please read this first before buying!!!
1) The mesh routers ONLY function completely when used in router mode. In Access Point (AP) mode there are the following limitations:
- IFTTT does not work at all.
- There are virtually no configuration options available. You cannot even change the wifi channel.
2) You cannot run your own DHCP server when in router mode. There is no way to switch off the internal DHCP router of the tplinks.
3) If you are running them in AP mode, tplink claims to switch off the DHCP server. This is NOT true. The DHCP is 'smart' and is switched on or off when the tplinks sees fit. This will even in AP mode cause problems on your local network causing machines to drop connections.
The problems mentioned above are serious design flaws and are not picked up by TPlink.
4) Newer models ( like the P9) suffer from incomplete firmware and missing app settings. It appears you, the buyer, is the fieldtester for TPlink.
5) There are numerous other unresolved problems, please check this forum.
If you also think TPlink needs to step up to our expectations , please +1 this thread so it will stay at the top of the list.

I tried Ubiquiti Amplifi HD Games edition kit for the last week and it solved my wireless coverage, great looking little router interface options extensive. A bit expensive but does the job

The new firmware seems to have been on its way for months now. Maybe TP-Link needs to invest in training the managers and product teams on some agile product delivery methods so that they can release products often and get feed back faster from the users.

9 months since the last Deco M9 firmware release. Considering the number of bug reports, this is a disgrace.

I was facing random Deco P9 units disconnections and the whole setup was very unstable.
It seems that Decos were trying to use WiFi backhaul even with weak signal.
My solution was to permanently disable the WiFi backhaul and use only PLC.

Can we also discuss the ridiculous numerous security updates the Deco X60 gets every day, causing the units to turn off and on, cutting you out of important video calls as there's NO notification or NO option to schedule these updates? Because today there have been 2 already, and it's seriously starting to become annoying when you're in the middle of a video call and there's an all important security update so everything must stop according to TP-LINK. Let us at least schedule these things!!!!

LOL. You should buy a tp-link M9 v2 as that one has missing features from the start and no updates at all for more then 6 months. Like they have abandoned the product completely!
TP-link is the most unprofessional company I have seen in years.
