Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20190617 Rel. 47476

Hi all.

I've obtained the 3pcs set od Deco's M5 and AX6000 wireless router.

I want to create Deco's AP mode setup with ethernet backhul - will be connected via the switch to the router.

How to configure the AP mode is clear for me. Question is about the wifi itself. Is this OK for Deco's to use the same SSID as it is set in router? I prefer to use the router radio as well - to increase speed - the ax radio seems to be faster than deco. I want to use it, when possible.

Is that config OK, or should I use different SSID for deco mesh network only. I purchased ax6000 just to support deco's mesh network.

Update.

Since AX6000 has still unsloved stability issue with both wifi, I have my old Archer C5400.

Would it be ok to use this one instead of AX6000 until TpLing Engineers will colve the wifi problem?

Any feedback is appreciated.

@Enriquez

Hello, you can setup same SSID for the Archer AX6000 with the Deco mesh network; while cause the Archer AX6000 is a separate network, the devices may failed to acheive the seamless roaming between the Archer AX6000 and Deco mesh network.

Besides, may I know did you return the Archer AX6000 and use the Archer C5400 as the main router instead?

Thanks in advance.

@Kevin_Z

Thanks - i will experiment with this.

My AX6000 is still in place as main router. I'm waiting to receive from You the beta firmware link, to check the 5GHz issue.

After that, if the beta is not helping I consider to replace it with C5400 (already not used), and wait to final firmware update.

@Kevin_Z does this mean that the ax6000 firmware will now activate seamless WiFi with deco M5? I'm considering this router to replace my c2300 to work with my existing deco m5s down stream.

@Alex79

At the moment, ax6000 is not supporting mesh.

@Enriquez Was this issue resolved? I literally just ordered the AX6000 to upgrade from my Netgear Router in hopes of upgrading my M5 Mesh network.
