Deco M9 Plus v2 firmware not possible to update and are missing features compared to v1
I have v2 and the DECO app reports that I have 1.2.10 Build 20190809 54285
On the webpage https://www.tp-link.com/de/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Firmware however there is a newer 1.2.11 20190926 55727
Why does the DECO report that I have the latest firmware and why cant I upgrade to 1.2.11?
On the other hand what Im really asking for is to get the same features as HW v1 got.
You have release 1.3.0 with lots of new features and it was built in August and Released in October. Why dont we get that for revision v2?
All these things was release on Ocotber for revision v2
Modifications and Bug Fixes:
1. Added support for IPTV bridge mode and custom mode.
2. Added IPv6 firewall rules feature.
3. Added Mesh Technology option.
4. Displayed which client is connected to which deco and which Wi-Fi band.
5. Displayed how Decos are connected to each other.
6. Supported up to 64 entries each for Address Reservation and Port Forwarding.
7. Improved the system stability and fixed some bugs.
Notes:
1. Please update your Deco App to the latest version in order to use new features.
2. If there are other Deco models in your Deco network, you may miss some new features till other models release updates in the near future.

Not you
But see post #148 #149 #150 #161 #164
Does not seem solid to me.
So again, fix a stable 1.3 please TP, before they give us beta 1.4

Beta 1.4 has been pretty solid for me.

who did you talk about the beta, if you don't mind could you ask the person you talked if they have another beta please

@e3henri My guess is that there will not be a further 1.3 version. They probably want to bring all Deco models with same features and version which is currently V1.4 such as M5.

As far as I know/found in this topic, the latest firmware is:
Deco M9 Plus v2 with beta firmware version 1.4.0 Build 20200319 Rel. 55255.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202003/20200324/M9v2_1.4.0.zip
So before I update my Deco M9 plus v2 to the latest firmware, i'd like to know a few things.
1. My question to the people already using it, what's new? I'd like to create a list of new known features.
2. @Kevin_Z maybe you can give us some insight in what's new in 1.4.0 compared to v1.2.x? Also are there any known bugs in v1.4.0?
I think by providing a clear list of what the benefits/limitation of the 1.4.0 upgrade are, people can make a calculated choice whether to upgrade (to the beta) or not (and wait for the official release)

I upgraded a few days ago and i must say: stability is good.
Haven't heard anyone in house complain :)
As new features i've seen:
- web ui (allbeit VERY slow in my case)
- more details on the deco units itself (what clients are connected to which deco, how deco's are connected tot eachother)
- finally an option to change the system time (only through web ui)
There might be more, these are the ones i found.

@KennethDB I have just updated to the beta mentioned above, but cannot access a web UI at either its IP or at the symbolic name.
Do I need to do anything to enable it?
Thanks.

@KennethDB Great! I'll update my post, few questions;
1. Can you tell me how many addresses you can reserve and ports can be forwarded? Currently the limit is 16
2. Are there any more network options available, for example IGMP snooping?

Port forwarding: 64
As to address reservations, i can't find a limit anywhere.
Same goes for network options, as far as i know, there are no new options. But that was not my main reason for upgrading honestly.

I did not have to enable anything.
It worked right away on the new firmware, but VERY slow. Sometimes even timing out.
