Archer C6 as a repeater for Archer C6
Archer C6 as a repeater for Archer C6
Hi,
is anybody using an Archer C6 as a Repeater together with an other Archer C6?
I tried several setups but couldn't get the second Archer working as a Repeater.
Would be great if anybody got this working and let me know how he did it.
BR

@rakib386 the solution works as long as the router for the main access point doesn't change the WiFi channel number. I think it is better to mention that point as a note. In my case the service provider (Airtel) has modified the firmware so that the channel number selections cannot be made fixed In such case (i.e., it is always set to 'Auto'). In this configuration, if I power on and power off the main router, then the repeater stops working, and I need to re-do everything!

Go to Advance
Go to LAN-Change Lan IP, it should be different from your main router, Suppose your main router IP address is 192.168.1.1 then you should change it to 192.168.3.1 or other and save, (remember your subnet musk should be same like 255.255.255.0) wait and log in again.
Go to Advance
After that go to System tools-system parameter-scroll down your mouse wheel and find 2.4Ghz WDS- checkmark Enable WDS Bridge-then survey
now you can see your main router choose it and write your main router wifi password and save
Finally, go to DHCP Server in LAN Menu-uncheck DHCP Server and save. Reboot your router. and done

@rakib386 hi I tried following the step, however when I tried to change my ip server it says " WAN IP address and LAN IP address cannot be in the same subnet " . In this case, my main router ip address is 192.168.100.1 and i tried to change it to 192.168.100.X while x>1

Are you also connecting two Archer C6 wirelessly via WDS? What are the hardware versions of both C6s?
Please check and install the latest official firmware on both of them, then reconfigure the WDS bridging to monitor the performance.
