Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Archer C6(EU)_V2_190115

Hi,

is anybody using an Archer C6 as a Repeater together with an other Archer C6?

I tried several setups but couldn't get the second Archer working as a Repeater.

Would be great if anybody got this working and let me know how he did it.

BR

Reiner

@ArcherC6

Go to Advance

Go to LAN-Change Lan IP, it should be different from your main router, Suppose your main router IP address is 192.168.1.1 then you should change it to 192.168.3.1 or other and save, (remember your subnet musk should be same like 255.255.255.0) wait and log in again.

Go to Advance

After that go to System tools-system parameter-scroll down your mouse wheel and find 2.4Ghz WDS- checkmark Enable WDS Bridge-then survey

now you can see your main router choose it and write your main router wifi password and save

Finally, go to DHCP Server in LAN Menu-uncheck DHCP Server and save. Reboot your router. and done

@Raghunandan.Rao  @phal

If you want to access the web GUI of the Archer C6 after configuring it to be a repeater, ensure you've given it a static IP address, which should be in the same IP subnet of the main router. Given that the IP address of the main router is 10.0.0.1 in your case @phal, you need to set a static IP address for the C6, such as 10.0.0.254, then you should be able to access it directly.

If you haven't set a static IP address for it, you can also access its web GUI, but you need to configure a static IP address on the computer manually first in order to do that, which should be in the same IP subnet of the C6. Given that the IP address of the C6 is 192.168.0.1, then you should set a static IP address on the computer to 192.168.0.100, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1, then you should be able to access its web GUI.

Remember to change it back to obtain IP address automatically after that, otherwise, you may not be able to access the internet.

Hello, you can use the WDS function to configure it as a repeater.

Below is the instruction to set it up.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1555/

May it help.

I followed the tutorial and it worked.

How do I access the router page now? 192.168.0.2 doesn't work, neither does the http:// option.

The tplink app "tether" doesn't acknowledge the router in spite of me being connected to the correct network (archer C6's network, that is).

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

@AES6000

What is the LAN IP of the WDS now? Is it 192.168.0.2?

What is the LAN IP of the main? Is it 192.168.0.1? If yes, you should be able to access the 192.168.0.2, you may try to do a ping test, then show us the result:

@Kevin_Z yes, that's correct, I did as in the tutorial, but can't access the 192.168.0.2.

If i do the 192.168.0.2, it sends me to the main router page, not the c6 repeater.

Thanks

@AES6000

Are the main and the WDS the same model, both are Archer C6? If not, what is the model number of the main?

If the IP address of the main is 192.168.0.1, you can only access it via 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2 won't be able to access it. Please show us the screenshot when you type in 192.168.0.2 and accessed the web interface of the main.

@ArcherC6

Hi, I have the same problem.

I am on a Mac (big sur). I use a Netgear JWNR2010v5 as my primary router and TP-link archer as my extender.

When I bought it, I was able to successfully install archer as my extender. Now I'm trying to login to the TPlink archer router page but none of the IPs seem to work.

I have tried the following IPs unsuccessfully -

192.168.1.1

192.168.0.1

192.168.0.2

10.0.0.1 --- takes me to the primary router page.

10.0.0.5

This is my network configuration ---

Please advise how to access my router page. I intend to also switch my primary router with the extender after I login.

@phal was the issue of access solved? Are you able to access your router / extender? If yes, how did you achieve it? I have the same problem.

@Raghunandan.Rao I force reset the Archer C6 router and started over with the router setup.
