Is there any extender that allows to change the channel?
Hi,
I just got an RE305 and found out two main problems:
- Infamous "proxy mode" that changes the MAC of the connecting devices
- Using the same channel of the router which degrades throughput
I cannot understand why on earth this was designed this way... Anyway, I can cope duplicating the MAC list, but not he intefering channel.
Is there any model built without this "gift"?
Regards

Thanks for your requesting.
For now, to keep the consistency/stability of the interaction and loose the burden of the extender , the wireless channel of the extender should be the same as the main router.
May it help and have a nice day.

@brother
It seems that some answers have been removed...
Anyway, I already read the section about managing proxy mac addresses, I did it before posting the first time. And still have the same questions:
What's the point in masking physical addresses?
Why don't you publish your mask instead of forcing us to unable mac filtering and figure out your schemes?
I returned the device because of the issues related, but remain curious about this themes and your roadmap.
Regards.

Thanks for your reply. The answer removed are all the spam posts, not valid ones.
You can order an extender which can satisfy your needs better, and hope we can have an opportunity to work with you in the near future.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z Hi Kevin, just got a RE220. Problem is my modem/router is TP-Link TC-W7960 which does not have 5GHz so I can't set it there.
I'm on channel 36 and so are all my neighbors. Is there anything I can do about it?
Sincerely,
