@PrashantDeco

Yes, the new official firmware is available now for the Deco M4, you can check if you can detect it on your Deco app. If not, you can download it from the TP-Link official website and update it manually:

@TP-Link I can't see the latest firmware update on the downloads page shared here nor on the deco app. The last update seen is from 2020. Can you please guide through the process of downloading the latest firmware update with the PPCoE service name feature added.

@PrashantDeco

Since the firmware 1.5.0 for Deco M4 just released recently, not all users will get the firmware notification in the first place.
And you could try to manually update the firmware via web UI:

Thanks!

Hi, It is working for me now, I updated the firmware of my Deco M4 to 1.5.0 through the static.tp-link.com url and then I could see the option to change service name in the Deco app once I selected PPPoE.

Finally, after 2 long years, im able to use this "advanced" feature on my "advanced and truly futuristic" mesh router xD

Anyway, on a serious note, thanks a lot @TP-Link  for providing the link to manually update the firmware. The included pdf with instructions were pretty simple to follow :-)

Pathetic response from TP Link. No support after sales even online

@Akash999

Hi, I see your firmware is Deco M4 v2-1.4.3, and the option to modify the PPPoE service name is added on firmware 1.5.0 and above.

So please try to install the latest 1.5.2 firmware for Deco M4:

Deco M4_V2_1.5.2_20210916

Since the firmware is applied in sequence to the correct devices during the release process, so there would be some delay in some regions.

Thank you very much.

I have just set up my DecoM5. PPPOE details have to be obtained from your service provider. I subscribed to Maxis and they are reluctant to cooperate. After several frustrating calls calls they provided me with necessary info that enable Deco connection to Internet. They claimed that they are not responsible for any device that's not bought from them and not ready provide essential technical data for successful set up of router.

@Pramod_s

Hi, I think it might not be country-specific.

I see the current firmware of your Deco M4 is on 1.4.3 which is not supported service name under PPPoE, but Deco M9 with 1.5.2 does.

Maybe you could try to update the firmware of M4 to be the latest 1.5.2 to have a look:
