Dual band does not mean it combines the speed of both bands. Also your device (PC) will receive on one band only. The Archer C9 has a input LAN speed of 1000 so that will be the max speed you can expect. The 5 ghz will have the highest speed but will have less WIFI coverage where the 2.4 will have slower speeds and better WIFI coverage. You will also be limited in speed by distance and by your device limitations (WIFI card in your PC). Extenders and some modems have settings where they use one channel for one direction and another for the other direction (backhaul). Not sure on the Archer C9 if it supports Backhaul or not.

@Boriths

The 1900Mbps is the whole wireless link speed of the Archer C9, including 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

The Archer C9 has the gigabit ethernet ports, and the wifi speed of 5GHz are higher than the 2.4GHz but with smaller wifi coverage area, just like Archer C8 said.

And the wireless link speed is not the actual speed you can get, instead, it is decided by the bandwidth you paid, distance, obstacles and interferences.

You can test the actual speed you can get from the Archer C9 and verify whether it is normal by comparing it with the bandwidth you paid. You can adjust the wireless settings or update the firmware to improve the performance of the router.

May it help.
