Archer C7 AC1750 - WiFi speed problem
Hello everyone,
Just bought Archer C7 AC1750, theoretical speed of the 5GHz WiFi is 1300 Mbps. However I can't see more that 500-520 Mbps. My link speed is 1000 Mbps. When I am connected with ethernet cable, I can easily get 920 - 930 Mbps from the ISP.
I have played with the WiFi settings a bit, set Channel Width to 80Mhz, turned off 2.4 Ghz etc.
I am using 2015 MacBook Pro, Iphone Xs for testing and 2017 27" iMAC. I have BT Smart Hub 6, when I am using that I can easily see 800+ Mbps.
Is the capacity of the router or something wrong with mine?
If this is the max capacity of the WiFi for per device, can you please suggest a router which can provide 1gb to one device?
Thanks in advance.

My router is Archer C7 AC1750 NOT A10.

@mohacs I have the same issue. And today I tried through a lan cable from the modem directly everything was smooth.
Both WiFi and lan from the tp Link router are no more than 300 mbps.
my link is 1 gbps and I get that only when I connect the cable to the modem.

Hi @Elkin
Are you saying, this is router not capable to provide 1300 Mbps WiFi over 5 Ghz as advertised?
Yes with ethernet cable, no problem whatsoever.

@mohacs I am starting to believe that's the case. Probably "fake advertising"
what made me more puzzled is the speed I get from it even with a lan cable. I might have to try and get a sell for it before looking for a proper alternative.
i have searched online a lot with no answer

@Elkin, support just replied my email. As you can see the router is not 1300 mbps on 5 GHz as advertised. Apparently it's a fraud company since they advertised as 1300.
i am going to return the product and I'll stay away from TP-Link. Please see below for customer service reply.
Dear Customer,
Thank you very much for requesting information about our product.
If the link speed of the 5G is 1000Mbps, the actual speed 500-520 Mbps is very normal because the actual wireless speed is 50%-60% of the wireless link speed.

@mohacs for réal!
i will have to see a return for my device coz it's passed 14 days return policy.
i mean even lan speed is bad. So apparently it's all fake.
will look for other networking device.

@Elkin it is defective commodity and falsely advertised I do not think return policy applies.
