Archer AX6000 5Ghz stops working after app. 1 day
Hi,
I just bought a Archer AX6000 router. I'm having trouble with the 5 Ghz band. After a clean start up of the router the 5Ghz works fine. I have laptop, 2 phones and a tablet that can all connect to it. But after a day or so the connection is lost and I can't reconnect. The 5Ghz network is intermittend down. So, when scanning for networks sometimes the 5Ghz network is visible, but then dissapears again. This happens on all 4 devices, which make believe that the origin of the problem is with the router.
In a wifi analyzer app I see the same thing. The 5Ghz network is there, and then it isn't. Then it's back again and then it's gone again.
I updated the firmware to the latest available version, which is version 1.0.6.
Any ideas on how to solve this? Or should I return it?

Exact issue I have been having for months.
I have a laptop that wouldn't connect to 5ghz. Then took the computer to work one day. When I brought it home it connected to 5ghz with no issue. Then 24 hours later it got dropped off of 5ghz and wouldn't connect no matter what.
This same things keeps happening over and over to me.

Hello, apologies for the late reply.
Do you mean all of your 5G clients such as laptops and phones cannot connect to the 5GHz wireless network of the AX6000 after the firmware update?
Have you ever tried to change some 5GHz wireless settings yet? Including wireless channel and channel width. For example, change the channel to 36, 40, and 44, channel width 80MHz. Also, please try to change the wireless security to WPA2-PSK/AES to give it a go.
How often does this disconnect issue happen? Will the 5GHz connection work if you power cycle the AX6000?
BTW, may I know the current firmware of your AX6000? Is hardware a US version or EU version?
Thanks.

I'm back after couple of months. After setting up my network using asus system, I just put TpLink AX6000 router as a stand alone, for testing. What I can say, using 1.0.8 firmware I just reset all the settings to the factory state. What I changed is just put the ISP data and basic settings of both 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi. Since May, there are no any 5GHz failures. I can say, that I'm not using this wifi, but check it's conditions using iPhone and wifi6 laptop. The results are good after 3 months, without any drops and reboots of the router. Maybe the cure for common problems mentioned in this topic is just to reset the settings to the factory state ofter upgrading firmware?

Hello,
It seems that you are on the previous 1.1.0 firmware now, so there is no disconnect issue with all the 2.4GHz wireless devices? May I know what are they? What is the 2.4GHz wireless security setting on the AX6000 now?
When you tried to upgrade to the latest 1.1.1 firmware and change the 2.4GHz wireless security to WPA2/WPA3-Personal, will all of the 2.4GHz devices disconnect?
Thanks.
