Deco M4 slow speed
Hello all!
I have installed 2 deco M4 units. I have a 500Mbps connection. When I plug the ethernet cable that feeds my main M4 node (that comes from the router) directly to a laptop I can get 499Mbps, but when I connect to the main M4 node with an ethernet cable I only get 160 Mbps, is this normal? Also wifi connection with the laptop (AC1200) near the main M4 node I can't get more than 150Mbps on 5Ghz, is this normal too? The firmware is the latest...
Thanks

I´ve just got an M4 and had the same problem here regarding low speed on 5GHz. What solved the problem was setting total bandwith on QoS Settings and defining my device as HIGH PRIORITY on the list of connected devices. Problem solved for good!

Hello All,
just got my fiber connection setup from the provider.
Provider's router is in Bridge mode.
Main Deco M4 is connected to the gigabit port on the provider's router (port1). This cable is connected to Port1 on main Deco M4.
Then i run a cable (cat5e) from Deco M4 port2 to my PC.
This gives me maximum 250mbps down/up speed. Tested several times.
However, when i connect my PC directly to the provider's router (port1), my net speed is 680mbps (note, in router mode of course).
I have tried adding my PC to QOS with priority, set the max down/up speed to 1000mbps both.
I have a second Deco M4 in living room, running 5ghz.
Both devices has up-to-date firmware.
Please advice.

@xt198
So i got a solution for myself, since nothing is working what i have found on the great internet.
I have set the internet speed limit (previously, when setting up the device for first time) to 1000/1000mbit.
Then i have put my PC to high priority.
So with this setting, it Does Not Work!
What i have done to make it work:
Set the internet speed limit to 998/980mbit
Removed my PC from Priority list.
Now it works, i got the same speed as i got from the provider's router directly, 680mbit.

Guys i had the same issue but it was really easy to fix. just go to QOS setting and reset your bandwith speed. and that will fix it.

@TDR Hi TDR. I had the same issue with only getting half speed with a wired connection direct to Deco M4. Your solution solved it for me. I am now getting full speed again. I have a 500/100 connection and had set QOS as such. I now have my QOS set at 1000/500 AND also removed ALL priority devices from my list. TQ!

Hello, I recently bought a Deco M4 (Pack3) and I have the same problem that they mention I have tried everything and it does not improve my speed I have internet Fiber Optic 940mbps / 420mbps and my router is a huawei ONT Directly connected to the wifi 5g of the Ont router I have 750mb of speed and by cable it gives me 940mb Now when I connect the Deco M4 to the ONT via ethernet the speed of the wifi in 5g that I get is 380mbps on average being less than a meter from the Deco and if I connect to the gigabit port of the M4 I get the real speed of 940mbps. (so it would not be a problem with the cable) I have tried everything they have mentioned and I cannot make the DecoM4's wifi better and closer to that of the main router. The scheme is: For deco M4: ONT router (from provider) -> ethernet -> decom4 Speeds: 5g wifi: 380mbps average Gigabit ethernet port: 940mbps For Router (from provider) ONT router Speeds Wifi 5g: 750mbps Ethernet: 940mbps Please your help, I am very frustrated by the poor performance.

go to QOS in the settings tab. There go to the buttom and there go to edit to stablish your internet speed. You can do it manually or let Speedtest to do it for you.

Thanks, I've already tried that and it's the same. It keeps giving me maximum 400mb, so I lose more than half of my bandwidth.

@Gonza10.- I have exactly same issue....Same Router but on AirTel Fiber connection. Its so frustating...Did everything that others suggested on the 4 pages but nothing helps..Latest Firm Ware - Tested on LAN - Ookla - Fast.com - Swapped the Decos - Restarted nothing helps...Feeling like a fool for buying something expensive and getting half the speeds. Returning it back today.
