Deco M5 source signal selectable?
Is there an optimize command from the Deco App so that Deco slave units find their best signal source?
Is the signal source for slave decos selectable from the Deco App?

That's great.
Bit of an obvious question, but do you have a, even high level, estimate on when 1.6.0 might be avaiable to the public?
Kind regards.

M5 beta firmware (For V1+2+3):

You then need to connect to your Deco's on their web interfaces, by visiting their IP addresses in a browser. Upload the relevant firmware to the deco, ENSURING the FW is the correct one for your Deco. As if it isn't you could brick the device....

@MikeSel tnx,
Did you test it? Any problem that could prevent the network from working?

Hi TPLink,
I tried the special firmware patch for my Deco M5, using the link posted earlier on this thread.
https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202102/20210207/Deco_M5_1.5.1_Network_Map_Optimization_Log.zip
However, I still experience the issue. Here is roughly my current setup:
The main M5 that connects to the modem (NBN - PPPoE) is located in my office.
Then I set up another two satellites in the adjacent dining room, and also in the bedroom.
The M5-AP1 (dining)'s signal-source is the M5-Main (Office), and the wifi backhaul signal is full, which is great.
However, the M5-AP2 (bedroom) is trying to also connect to M5-Main (Office) despite the signal-source is very low (1 yellow bar).
While, it (M5-AP2) could actually reach M5-AP1 easier and prolly get a stronger signal-source.
Another strange thing is that, when I use my laptop and mobile-phone in the bedroom, I could see that they are being redirected to use the M5-Main (Office), rather than M5-AP2 (Bedroom), which technically is closer (as they're in the same room).
In my mobile phone, despite I'm just sitting next to (approx 30cm) MP5-AP2 (bedroom), I could see the wifi signal is NOT full:
which I guess, is because my mobile-phone is not connected to this MP5-AP2 satellite which is located in my bedroom, but instead to MP5-main (office) which is much further and the signal is much weaker.
I'm just wondering if I misconfigure this Deco M5?
From my observation, correct me if I'm wrong, but looks like:
a) M5-satellite signal-source choose lowest-hop distance one brute-forcely, without considering signal-strength
b) my mobile-phone device, when connected to the mesh wifi, is always redirected to the main-M5, eventho it's further away, instead of connected to the closest one.
Just as comparison, when I run OKLA speedtest on the office-room, it gives me approx 50MBps download, but when I bring it to the study-room, disconnect & reconnect the Wifi, it gives me just around 20-30 Mbps download (which is around half of the actual speed)
Therefore, if you could shed some light and advise on anything I could do to tweak my Deco M5, that would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Cheers,
