Model: Archer C60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello Guys,

Good Evening,

Looking for some insight on why my Archer C60 AC1350 is not allowing full bandwidth on my 200mbps line, the max i am getting on 5ghz is 93mbps and on 2.4ghz around 20mbps.

The fibreline if connected directly to my laptop does give a constant 200mbps.

I checked the tether app and the firmware is updated.l

Any help would be appriciated

Regards,

Ashish

@AshishA

Hello, like Archer C8 said, the Archer C60 has the 100Mbps ethernet ports only, which limits the speed you can get from the router which won't be higher than 100Mbps.

HARDWARE FEATURES
Interface 4 × 10/100Mbps LAN Ports
1 × 10/100Mbps WAN Port

That is the reason why you get 93mbps on 5GHz and around 20mbps on 2.4ghz.

Cause the bandwidth is 200Mbps, to get faster speed, it is suggested to return it and get another one, like Archer C7, Archer A7 which can handle gigabit speed.

May it help and have a good day.

If you are referring to a wired connection, the C60 only supports 100 not gigabyte LAN ports. see https://www.tp-link.com/la/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c60/#specifications.

@ArcherC8 Thanks for looking into my query,

I am using the wireless connection, that's where the speed is somewhat being limited to just 95/20 Mbps for 5&2.4 GHz

I tried just to change the channel and width refering to few other posts but the speed only goes down and not up. My line is 200mbps which I get as soon as I have the cable direct to my laptop or other devices.

Thanks,

Ashish

@AshishA Looking at the specs for the Archer C60, I do not understand how the WAN port speed is 10/100 but the wireless WIFI can be rated highter (450/865). It seems to me that the WAN port of 10/100 (input to the router) would be a limiting factor. Maybe someone from TP-Link can explain. I have an Archer C8 that has 1000 WAN and LAN ports with 200 speed from my ISP. At times I get over 200 on both WIFI and ethernet ports.

@Kevin_Z Is there a way to change the port speed limitation from 10/100 mbps to 10/100/1000 mbps for Archer C60? If not, then why this is being sold as GB router with 800 and 300 MBPS when this will never be able to deliver due to port limitation?

@Mathan

Hello, the port limitation is fixed, cannot be changed.

The actual wireless speed is limited by the port limitation when it works in regular router mode, while it is still affected by the wireless link speed between the router and clients;

Besides, the Archer C60 supports WDS function, that means it can connect to the main router by wireless to boost the wifi signal, in this way, the wireless link speed is important.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z

Hello Kevin, This helps though my 2nd query is not clarified.

I have a modem supplied by ISP which actually delivers 150 MBPS per my plan. Currently I have connected Archer C60 through Ethernet port to this router. Per my understanding on your reply, I can now connect Archer C60 to my modem wirelessly and connect my devices to Archer C60 to get maximum speed. Please correct me if I am wrong so that I can try this. Also, please help with instructions to connect the router to modem wirelessly.
