@RouterKing

The 300Mbps and 860Mbps are the wireless negotiation speed, not the atcual speed you can get from the Archer C7.

What is the bandwidth you paid? With computer connected to the Archer C7, please run a speed test and verify the actual speed you can get from the C7.

Besides, you can compare it with the bandwidth you paid for your ISP and check whether it affects the results.

You can try to change the wireless channel and channel width to optimize the wireless performance.

Good day.

I need better link speed. I use lot of media streaming and transfering huge files over wifi. Internet speed is ok. issue is lan  link speed. The tplink n940 connects at 430mbps on 2.4ghz but not archer c7 or a9.

Does the wireless link speed affect the transferring speed via wifi? What is the transfer speed you can get?

Try to change the wireless settings of the 2.4GHz, especially the channle and channel width, set channel to 1, 6 or 11. channel width as 40MHz.

Besides, try to update the driver of the network adapter built in the laptop.

The router firmware and wifi card drivers are latest. When streaming media from desktop connected over wifi there is buffering in 300mbps but it works fine if link speed is 430 and above.
