I recently bought a TP-Link TL-WA855RE WiFi range extender to better the connection of my smart TV. The TV is on the opposite side of my modem/router. I have a TP-Link Archer C1200 router.

The range extender has 1 port. It also has its own network that it broadcasts, but I can't reach the internet through that network. I just want to have a great, stable connection to my smart TV, so I want to hard-wire it into the range extender, which is plugged into the same outlet cluster as the TV. However, I do not know if the range extender should be in AP mode or Router mode. I am very confused by the network that the range extender broadcasts, as it seems to have no purpose. Also, when I plug the TV into the range extender, it is still showing up as a wireless client in my router's client list.I am currently using it under Router Mode, but I do not know which is correct.https://scrabblewordfinder.vip/ https://www.applock.ooo/ https://www.7zip.vip/

@malfoypotter

Hello, the TL-WA855RE supports range extender mode and AP mode; In range extender mode, it will connect to the main router by wireless to boost the wifi signal and the ethernet port is available for the wired devices; in AP mode, it will connect to the main router by wired cable, only wireless devices can access internet from it.

The extender has its own wireless network, it can be detected but no internet access until we connect it to the main router. To make it work, you need configure it with the main router's wifi password. Instruction as below: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1411/

If you want to connect your TV to the extender by wired cable, then you need configure it as the range extender mode.

Besides, there were 3 same threads posted before actually, but had been deleted due to spam cwebsite attached. Please notice that that kind of thread will be deleted.
