Not connecting to channel 108
Hello!
RE200 v2.0 Firmware 1.1.8 Build 20181113 Rel. 36494.
Buyed in Mexico.
Only few 5Ghz channels.
Channel 48 goes to channel 149...no channel 108 nor 100 and I'm now in a country where wifi is taken from WIFI antennae in street and these antennae operates in channel 108, also in channel 100 so no way to connect RE200 to them in 5Ghz
How can I fix this?
Thank you !

Hello, for your information, this RE200 v2 US version supports band 1 and band 4 of 5GHz only, it does not support band 3, which is from channel 100-140.
As my knowledge, the country version of the RE200 sold in Mexico should be US, while you can verify it first which is printed on the bottom label, next to the model number.
May it help and have a good day.

Thank you for your answer !
I'm a little bit disappointed because I have buyed it as an Universal Wifi Repeater. I have seen in TP-Link page the way you can config it and it always shows the first option to change region of the RE200. Now I see that's not like in the TP-Link web.
Is there any chance to change firmware and have different regions for the RE200 v2? I don't think it's a hardware limitation, no? Just software, right? Where I'm living now, they use channel 100 and 108 as wifi public hotspot and that's the only way to have Internet so what can I do with my RE200 v2? I wanted RE200 to repeat this wifi signal inside my home, now I'm outside with laptop, and the 2,4Ghz signals are saturated.
Is there a possibility to change RE200 region with different firmware?
Thank you!

Hello, sorry for that, the channel 108 belongs to band 3 of 5GHz, while this RE200 does not support;
It is releated to the hardware and firmware version both. For the firmware update, it is suggested to install the firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty.
Besides, for the region issue, it will snychronize its own location once it accesses internet.
Good day.

Hello !
Thank you for the answer...
I made a little bit research with a RE200 firmware and I saw that the mostly part of it is based on OpenWRT. I also saw the channel tables for US or EU or UK or JP firmware and I saw that all the channels in a file.
Also in a file in \bin\etc\wireless I saw:
for the 2Ghz
[...]
CountryRegion=5
CountryRegionABand=7
and for the 5Ghz
[...]
CountryRegion=5
CountryRegionABand=7
...
But I cannot change this because only write file...
So I think it's only software. I don't believe that US MT7628A and MT7610E are different that the Japanese ones, right?
I'm now living in this country 152.206.163.128 so it's totally impossible to buy another TP-Link wifi device here... and 5Ghz channels for the only wifi hotspots available near are 100 and 108 and that is the only ISP here. i connect late in the night in 2,4 Ghz because people is sleeping now and free the channels. 2:18 am.
So please, can you tell me how to unlock my RE200 v2 so I can connect to these 5Ghz channels with no problems?
Thank you very much for you fot your comprehension and help !
PD: And about the warranty i'ts a long time that the device has lost it.. bought 3-4 years ago from now or more, so... good bye warranty !
Bye!

There is no official firmware can be installed to support the channel you need.
You can try to flash the third party firmware, cause the warranty of RE200 has expired, you do not have to worry about that it will be against the warranty.
While we are not familiar with the 3rd party firmware and won't provide tech support for it.
Wish your understanding, and have a good day.

@JosePartin what firmware did you use finally?
The default 5ghz channels in my area are starting to get crowded so I would like to use the full range of channels.
Thanks!
