WOL (Wake on Lan, not wake on internet)
Hi,
I want to have WOL active on my network
I don't realy care about WOW so it's only local from an app on smartphone to power up 2 computers
tryed
- 2 apps
- I've given the computers a fixed ip based on the mac adres
- 192.168.1.10
- 192.168.1.11
- port 7 AND 9
- binding ip and mac
- Can't becourse adres already in use on dhcp
- So killed fixed adres and bined again
All wilthout luck
It's working when the computer is off for just a few minutes.
Any ideas to have it correct?

Have you enabled the WOL feature on the particular laptop yet?
Try to reserve an IP address for the 2 computers under DHCP server- address reservation page and then please enable the IP&MAC binding.

After that, you can try to send the magic packet ( internet IP + port number) from an external device and verify whether it works.

Thanks for your reply.
May I know is there any error message indicates that you failed to bind IP and MAC?
Note: Please change the fixed IP to dynamic IP on the 2 computers.
Can you wake up the computers from the internet?

Thanks for your reply.
You can assign a IP for the computer which has not been used yet. You can verify whether it is used by checking the DHCP client list.
After that, you can bind the IP and MAC together; please ensure that you set your computer as obtaining IP address automatically.
Then you can try to disable the firewall and antivirus on computer and verify whether you can wake them up both locally and remotely.
Best regards.
